Football Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, however will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, against AI, readers and a range of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers secured two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only on the road victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno was still Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham extending their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have got lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of October.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but could they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
